Summer Day Camp Options
There’s plenty of fun to go around this summer. NEDSRA is offering four camps starting in June 2008. Camp Inspiration, Camp Exploration and Camp Independence will be at Bensenville Park District and offered to children ages 5 to 19 with mental disabilities and autism. Camp Discovery will be at Glendale Heights Sports Hub for children ages 6 to 18 with learning disabilities, behavior disorders or mental health impairment. A favorite, Camp Little Tykes, will be offered at Schiller Park Activity Center to children ages 3 to 6 with mental disabilities or autism. Each camp is designed to meet the physical, social, cognitive and emotional needs of the campers, with special emphasis on independence and community integration. For more information on summer camps, contact Carrie Henry at (630) 620-4500, ext. 131, or chenry@nedsra.org.

Let’s Play Together!
NEDSRA understands that not every child with a disability requires special recreation services. As a continuation of our commitment to provide leisure opportunities which maximize each child’s potential, NEDSRA offers Inclusion Services. Inclusion provides a child with a disability the opportunity to be included in park district or recreation department programs, and to participate alongside peers who do not have a disability. If you are interested in NEDSRA’s Inclusion Services, please call Ann Roytek at (630) 620-4500, ext. 133, or aroytek@nedsra.org.

If you know someone with a disability, or would like more information regarding NEDSRA services, contact Jeena Greenwalt at (630) 620-4500, ext. 132 or jgreenwalt@nedsra.org.
