Belly Dance

Belly Dance is a fun, fitness-based class with an emphasis on proper posture and technique while listening and interpreting the music. No experience is necessary. All ages and abilities are welcome. Each class starts with a warm up, then technique, then combinations based on the technique or a choreography that is learned throughout the session, and ends with a cool-down.

Circuit Boot Camp for Women

Join us for aerobic activity to get your heart pumping and blood flowing. This will incorporate resistance equipment and free weights followed by butt and ab toning exercises and a relaxing stretching segment for flexibility. This class will strengthen your muscles, increase your metabolism and increase your all around fitness. Class is held at Figures Express Workout for Women at 401 E. North Avenue. (no class 7/5)

Zumba

Zumba is a Latin and international dance inspired cardio fitness exercise which combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves. This aerobic/fitness interval training combines fast and slow rhythms with dance inspired exercises to tone and sculpt your body, top to bottom. Zumba is based on the principle that a workout should be FUN and EASY to do. You don’t have to know how to dance to Zumba. It’s a “Feel Happy” workout! Check out www.zumba.com for more information. Aquacise & Kids Fun

While you get into your workout, your kids will have a blast, at the same facility. From sand castle building to playing water games, this is one cool class. The first class meets at Jefferson Pool. A detailed scheduled will be available at the first class. (no class 7/4)

Yoga

Experience more energy, better health and flexibility and find an enhanced ability to deal with the challenges of everyday life. You will practice the basic flow of yoga postures through the coordination of spine and body movement with controlled breathing and deep relaxation of muscle groups.

Aquacise

Bring your workout outdoors and into the pool. Water resistance helps provide a great workout for all ages and abilities, and this low impact class includes thirty minutes of cardiovascular training followed by thirty minutes of muscle toning. Swimming skills are not required. If you have children, see the Aquacise and Kids Fun program listed on this page. (no class 7/4)

NOTE: The first class of the morning session will meet at Jefferson Pool. The following weeks will alternate between Jefferson Pool and Lufkin Pool. A detailed schedule will be available at the first class.

Pilates I

It restores muscular balance, builds strength and flexibility, increases coordination and improves posture. Pilates uses the abdomen, lower back, and buttocks as a power center, enabling the rest of the body to move freely. Consistent practice of Pilates can improve posture and sleep and develop firmer, sleeker and more powerful muscles.

Pilates II

If you have completed Pilates I, this class is the next step. You will perfect the basic mat movements and add new exercises each week. Strength and stretch concepts will be presented so you can continue your journey towards muscular balance and alignment.

Jazzercise

Jazzercise is a 60 minute class incorporating cardio, strength and stretch moves for a total body workout. We’ve taken moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, kickboxing and resistance training and bundled them into one hour. All ages, levels and sizes welcome. Contact Stephanie at (630) 300-4972 to register.

Mix and match these fitness classes and receive a discount

High Energy Cardio n’ Tone
Join us for aerobic activity to get your heart pumping and blood flowing, followed by strengthening and toning exercises and a relaxing stretching segment for flexibility. A great total body workout.

Kick Interval
A fun and intense cardiovascular workout combining boxing, martial arts, kickboxing and dance with segments of weight and resistance training. Hand weights, bands and tubes will be used. This is a great cross training combination for all fitness levels.

Body Strength and Tone
You won’t get bored with the variety of exercises to strengthen your muscles, boost your metabolism and increase your all around fitness level. We’ll use body weight, hand weights, tubes, bands and resistance balls.
